Hogwarts Legacy was undoubtedly a very successful game for Avalanche Studios and Warner Bros., with the game still serving as one of the most played single-player releases for the current generation of consoles. That led to the near-immediate commissioning of a sequel, which is set to be much more closely tied to the upcoming HBO adaptation of the original Harry Potter books.

While we wait to hear more about that, which could happen sooner than we think, given when the studio wants to release the sequel, there's still plenty of fun to be had with the original. Many of those new experiences come thanks to the game's immense modding community, and one download in particular brings one of the lore's most iconic locations to life.

Over on Curse Forge, you should be able to find the download page for Diagon Alley London, which as the name suggests, adds the center of the city's Wizarding community to the game. Not only that, but the considerably more nefarious Knockturn Alley is also included as part of the package, though no self-respecting student would want to be seen there.

The mod is much more designed to be focused on fun exploration elements, rather than tangible questing or rewards. It features all the iconic stores and locales that you'd usually expect to find, from The Leaky Cauldron to Ollivander's wand shop.

You can head through the mod at your own leisure, taking pictures along the way to remember your visit. Your interactions with the alley also aren't restricted, and you can head over there at any time by taking the entrance down the path from Mooncalf Den.

As with almost all mods, it's also totally free to download, so all you really need to have is a copy of the game on PC and you should be able to get it going pretty easily.

Beyond it being closely tied to the upcoming series, we really don't know too much about what approach the developer is going to take to the next game in the series. Hogwarts Legacy built up an audience for itself by telling an entirely original story long before the arrival of Harry Potter at the school. With that in mind, a 1:1 translation of the books feels like a major risk that they don't need to take, as much as they want to create a cohesive franchise between the worlds of television and video games.
