Silent Hill f has enjoyed a pretty long tail, no doubt because it's one of the more interesting Silent Hill games in some time. Dealing with student Shimizu Hinako, there's a lot going on under the surface of Silent Hill f, and fans have enjoyed unpacking it ever since its release nearly a year ago.
There are a ton of layers to this game, from the secret endings to the narrative itself, and there's a reason people have sought to beat it multiple times. With its unique 1960s Japan setting, it manages to craft a world that you just don't see that often in most media.
Now, you can enjoy a free download for Silent Hill f now, and it's incredibly easy to grab. There are no provisos or strings attached to this one; you can just get it now (via Gematsu).
If you haven't been following Silent Hill f, Konami and Koei Tecmo partnered up to provide a cheeky crossover for the Fatal Frame and Silent Hill series. That DLC was previously one-way, offering a new costume for the Fatal Frame 2 remake that allowed the heroine Mio Amakura to appear as Silent Hill's Shimizu Hinako.
Now, you can download the reverse costume for Silent Hill f, as part of a new update. This second street of the partnership was a long time coming, given that the Fatal Frame 2 DLC came out in March, earlier this year, for multiple characters: "The Navy Sailor School Uniform outfit can be worn by Mio Amakura, and the Fox Mask accessory can be worn by Mio Amakura and Mayu Amakura."
As far as Silent Hill f is concerned, here are the full details from Konami: "A costume for dressing up in the style of Mio Amakura, the protagonist of FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE. Content: Crimson Butterfly Costume This costume changes Hinako’s appearance. To apply this costume, access a Hokora in the game and select Change Costume from the menu."
As a reminder, there are no qualifiers for this download. You don't need to own a season pass or a special edition to redeem the costume, as it's available for "all players who own the main game of Silent Hill f." Note that you do need to download patch 1.20 or higher to use it, but that's about it.
If you're itching for another Silent Hill f run, now might be a good time. With this free download under your belt, you can at least mix things up a bit with a new costume.
