With movies and shows sometimes randomly vanishing from streaming services and subscription prices climbing every month, it’s a good time to get into physical media.

Yes, the headlines around Blu-ray and DVDs tend to be grim, after years of steadily declining sales and manufacturers ceasing production of Blu-ray players. Yet cinephiles swear by the improved sound and picture quality of Blu-ray, and casual collectors can also enjoy the benefits of having their favorite shows and movies at their fingertips — without having to worry about that dreaded “leaving Netflix soon” banner.

Subscription fatigue is part of the reason why physical media seems to be on something of an upswing; the vinyl boom is over a decade old, but collectors are now finding a newfound appreciation for formats like Blu-ray and DVDs.

Looking to jump in on the trend? Now is the time to buy. Discs are deeply discounted during Prime Day, with especially big savings on box sets. And if you prefer to shop on sites other than Amazon, many of the same deals are available from retailers like Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and Best Buy.

From box sets of beloved TV shows to collectible editions of films, we’ve rounded up the best Blu-ray deals you can take advantage of during Prime Day on Amazon and beyond. Here are some of our favorites.

The massive Criterion release of Wes Anderson’s first ten films comes in a stylish box, with 4K restorations of each film. Of course, there are hours of bonus content, plus extras like illustrated companion books for each film.

One Battle After Another (4K Ultra + Digital)

Shockingly, the 4K edition of Best Picture winner One Battle After Another is currently cheaper than the standard Blu-ray. The deal also applies to other retailers like Best Buy. It’s worth buying for that desert chase scene alone.

Godzilla: The Showa-Era Films, 1954–1975

If you’re looking to revisit the classic Godzilla films, this box set features the Criterion Collection releases from 1954 to 1975. The box set includes 15 films, with extras like a hardcover book and bonus content like interviews.

The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy

The 4K edition of The Lord of the Rings trilogy is discounted by $16. Best of all, the release features both the extended and theatrical editions of the films. The Blu-ray version of the theatrical edition is available for $16.00 from Barnes & Noble.

Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection

This Blu-ray features 15 films from Alfred Hitchcock, including Rear Window, Vertigo, North by Northwest, and Psycho. The discount applies to the 4K edition of the release.

Sinners is the kind of movie that deserves to be watched with the highest quality picture and audio, and the 4K is available for just $13.99. The standard Blu-ray, meanwhile, is $11.99. The disc includes deleted scenes and a featurette on the music of the film.

Mr. Robot: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

The standard Blu-ray of the complete Mr. Robot series is discounted to $30. The 12-disc set includes all four seasons, plus deleted scenes and extras.

Cristopher Nolan’s space epic Interstellar is discounted on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD, with the latter starting at under $5.

The Criterion box set of Agnes Varda’s complete filmography, featuring 39 films, is available for 41% off. The set is broken up into 15 discs, and they’re available as standard HD Blu-ray.

Given that Westworld is no longer available to stream, picking up the Blu-ray is one of the cheapest ways to watch the show. You can get the complete series on Blu-ray for $40, which includes four seasons across 12 discs.

Dune 2-Film Collection (4K Ultra + Digital) [4K UHD]

The spice must flow. This collection combines Dune Part One and Two, and features over an hour of bonus content. It’s available as a Blu-ray, 4K UHD, or DVD. Once again, the 4K is cheaper than the Blu-ray.

Anora might not be high in the rotation during family movie night, but the darkly funny anti-Cinderella story still has great rewatch value. The Criterion Blu-ray features audio commentary and bonus features like a behind-the-scenes doc and interviews.

Alien: Romulus captured a lot of the “in space, no one can hear you scream” horror of the original and the gripping action of Aliens, and the Blu-ray release features extended, alternate scenes and other bonus features.

Yellowstone: The Dutton Legacy Collection

This giftable box set features the 1883 and the first four seasons of Yellowstone. The fifth season got a Blu-ray release as well, but there’s no box set yet comprising the entire series.

Beloved anime film Akira got a 4K Steelbook release in March, and now it’s on sale. The 4K release includes the UHD edition and standard Blu-ray version in a two-disc set.
