EXCLUSIVE: We’ve learned that Oliver Stone‘s new movie White Lies has also cast actress and social entrepreneur, Stephanie Sugnami.

She joins a cast that includes Josh Hartnett, Leila George, Michael Douglas, Willem Dafoe, Ellen Barkin, Homer Gere and Yvonne Chapman.

As we previously reported, it’s the first feature film for the 3x Oscar winning Stone since 2016’s Snowden. He’s directing off his own screenplay which explores family, loss, pain and uncovers how love can change shape during our lifetimes. White Lies is told across three generations, and follows Jack Freeman (Hartnett), a child of divorce now repeating his parents’ mistakes in his own marriage and with his own children. Feeling trapped, he embarks on a lust-filled journey to escape—only to find himself more lost than before. When he meets a woman, whose life is the opposite of his own, he begins an unexpected journey on the path of rediscovery. Suganami will play the role of Chika, a woman who gets to know Jack and his son, Joe.

Fernando Sulichin produces alongside Maximilien Arvelaiz and Jordan Gertner for Sulichin’s New Element Media. Tarak Ben Ammar, Gianluca Leurini of Eagle Pictures are executive producing with James Packer and Jose Luis Manzano.

Suganami previously starred in the A24 horror Opus opposite Ayo Edebiri, Amber Midthunder, Young Mazino, John Malkovich, and Murray Bartlett, directed by Mark Anthony Green.
