Over the last several years, Letterboxd has become the go-to app for cinephiles when it comes to logging what movies they are watching, and a handful of films have been most popular this year. With over 30 million active users, it is a hub for movie lovers to create lists, share thoughtful reviews or funny quips, and see what their friends are watching daily.

Heading into this year, there was no shortage of anticipated 2026 movies for Letterboxd users, no matter if their tastes leaned more toward blockbuster franchises, auteur-driven independent features, or anything in between. The community's interests are so wide that the most popular movies ever run the gamut, from Interstellar to Pulp Fiction to Barbie to Parasite.

Users can gravitate toward the biggest new movies out in theaters, but the most popular titles often vary greatly from the box office. That is no different this year, as Letterboxd's most-watched movies shake out differently from the highest-grossing 2026 movies list. There are some crossover titles, but users have also taken to some smaller films as they look past underwhelming blockbusters.

Here are Letterboxd's 10 most-watched movies of 2026, based on how many viewers have logged a review or rating.

Just a few months after Danny Boyle brought audiences back to his zombie franchise, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple came out early in 2026 to continue the story. With Nia DaCosta taking over directing duties and Ralph Fiennes's Dr. Kelson stepping into the lead role, the sequel struck a chord with Letterboxd's users. It's been watched 824,820 times since its January 16 release.

The response has been largely positive. It has a 3.84 out of 5 stars after securing 742,650 ratings, with 38% of ratings giving it 4 stars. The top review belongs to Reece, who gave it a 4.5 out of 5 and said, "how many more perfect performances must Ralph Fiennes give us before we give him an Oscar," which resulted in over 24K likes. The 824K logs is below 28 Years Later, as it holds over 1.5 million watches.

Pixar earns a spot in the top 10 with Hoppers. The original sci-fi comedy from director Daniel Chong has been warmly received on Letterboxd. After moving to Disney+ following a solid theatrical release, Hoppers has now been logged by 838,226 members since March 6. That's good enough to be the most-watched 2026 animated movie among Letterboxd users.

The community has quite enjoyed Pixar's hilarious film. It holds a score of 3.73 out of 5 stars based on 759,676 ratings. 34% of the ratings have been for 4 stars. They've largely enjoyed watching Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien's power struggle after being stranded on an island together.
