Hockey romances Heated Rivalry and Off Campus have been streaming mega-hits. Now, there's a third series in the works to make it a hat trick. Netflix is working on a new adaptation of another BookTok sports romance sensation.
Netflix has announced that they're adapting Hannah Grace's hit hockey romance novel Icebreaker. The series will be showrun by Amanda Lasher, who began her Hollywood career as James Mangold's assistant on Cop Land, and has gone on to write and produce series like Gossip Girl, Riverdale, and With Love. Says Lasher, "I have been a fan of steamy YA since the 7th grade; reading Judy Blume stealthily hidden behind a text book." She'll also co-write the series with Jade Bartlett, who recently wrote and directed the Jenna Ortega erotic thriller Miller's Girl.
