EXCLUSIVE: Coming off a leading role in the film Ready or Not 2, Kathryn Newton has been cast in a leading role in the Hulu pilot Durango, from writer Eliza Clark, 20th Television, and Media Res.
Newton will play Bunny, who is beguiling, wild, and deeply guarded. She is someone who’s always been determined to keep moving — and her latest stop in Durango is no different. She doesn’t trust easily, but something about local snowboarding legend Mikey (Cooper Hoffman) gets through. When the two end up in the wrong place at the wrong time, the secrets she’s spent years burying may finally claw their way out.
Durango follows Mikey, a ski bum townie chasing a buzz. Bunny is a homeschooled runaway working as a greasy-spoon waitress. Together they’re riding an avalanche of bad decisions and falling in love while running from cops, criminals, and Mikey’s wife in pursuit of their own American dream.

Newton is currently filming Roxy Sophie Sorkin’s feature directorial debut Hot Year opposite Storm Reid, Dove Cameron, and J. Smith Cameron. Up next, she can be seen in Avengers: Doomsday in theaters this December. She previously starred in Universal Pictures’ horror feature, Abigail, and is well known for starring opposite Paul Rudd in Marvel’s Ant-Man and opposite Reese Witherspoon in HBO’s Big Little Lies. Next, she stars in the Basquiat biopic, Samo Lives, and Lionsgate’s Devil’s Mouth. Newton is repped by Entertainment 360, WME, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
