Heavy is the head that wears the Xbox Game Pass crown. Right now, Xbox is having a go at it, trying to figure out what the brand's future will be in the coming years. They just announced a ton of new titles for their Summer Game Fest (SGF) 2026 showcase, but some first-party studios are reportedly in trouble.

This comes in addition to recontextualizing Xbox Game Pass pricing and offerings, and the looming Project Helix, set to arrive at some point, bringing Microsoft into the next generation. There's a lot up in the air at the moment, but something is coming to Xbox Game Pass that you can enjoy in the near future.

One of 2025's best games is free on July 2, and you won't want to miss it.

As of July 2, you can play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 on PC, console, and cloud devices via Xbox Game Pass. Originally released in mid-2025 on PC, PS4/PS5, Switch 1/2, and Xbox Series X/S, this prolific series returns with a remake of the third and fourth mainline iterations of the iconic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, following 2020's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 revamp.

There's no other way to say it: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is a huge get for Xbox Game Pass. Not only is it a faithful recreation of Tony Hawk 3, but it also reimagines Tony Hawk 4's career mode in a more streamlined way, which makes it a great get-in-and-get-out Game Pass catalog entry. Although the revamp of Tony Hawk 4 is controversial, the new format fits the revival package well.

Plus, it's easy enough to boot up to play multiplayer on occasion. Iron Galaxy did a fantastic job of reviving these classic games, especially since 3 is considered one of the best in the series. It sports a great level selection and a ton of secret content and unlockables, which are thankfully devoid of oodles of paid DLC compared to some other titles under the Activision banner.

Guest characters include the Doom Guy and the Revenant enemy from Doom, Michaelangelo from TMNT, Jack Black as Officer Dick, and Bam Margera.

I've already 100%'d the game with a few skaters, but still hop back in from time to time to go for a higher score or enjoy some of the new levels added in to the 3+4 package. It's incredible that this series is still around and kicking, given that it's debut was all the way back in 1999.

We're coming up on the 30th anniversary of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater in a few years, and you can celebrate early on Xbox Game Pass in July. If you haven't played this series in ages, now is a good time to check back in and see what modern developers have been cooking.
