For the last little while, Marvel has been working tirelessly to dedicate as many efforts as possible to the MCU synergy of its upcoming Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This has included plenty of Spider-Man comic book crossovers, such as The Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Punisher vs. The Amazing Spider-Man, and Spider-Man: Long Way Home, which all feature a handful of other characters who are set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

In particular, fans are seeing a lot of Spider-Man, Punisher, and Hulk lately, with the Hand also being remarkably widespread, namely as an enemy faction in Marvel’s Wolverine. Now, it’s been announced that Spider-Man is going on yet another exciting crossover adventure, demonstrating that Marvel is taking this opportunity to produce as much synergy with Spider-Man: Brand New Day as it possibly can.

This fall, Marvel will be following Spider-Man: Brand New Day with Spider-Man - Midtown Mayhem, an all-new one-shot adventure for Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game, as shared on X. The cover artwork itself could well be an artist’s rendition of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, featuring Spider-Man, Hulk, and the Hand.

Interestingly, depending on how much it hopes to retroactively synergize with the movie, Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game: Spider-Man - Midtown Mayhem might tell us a lot more about Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s story than it seems at the moment. This new RPG adventure is briefly teased as “a gang war between Tombstone and the Hand” in Manhattan, which could ironically be a literal adaptation of the movie.

Regardless of how much we’ve seen so far, it is miraculous that we still don’t have a clear grasp on who Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s main villain is. It is still unconfirmed who Sadie Sink’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day character will be, for example, and trailers have refused to reveal an official glimpse of Tombstone.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is oversaturated with characters as is, and the movie has its work cut out for it if it’s going to try to explain the value and necessity of juggling them all. Therefore, if Spider-Man: Brand New Day centers on a gang war between Tombstone and the Hand, not only would it be a great excuse to have them appear and have Spider-Man intervene, but it would also make for a terrific and interactive RPG narrative that players can enjoy in Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game: Spider-Man - Midtown Mayhem.

Of course, this RPG adventure may merely be a unique play on the story, events, and characters in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. There’ll be no way to know with any certainty until the movie is released, though it’ll be incredibly thrilling for Spider-Man fans to follow Spider-Man: Brand New Day with Spider-Man - Midtown Mayhem anyway.

Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game: Spider-Man - Midtown Mayhem is scheduled to be released in September 2026.

Spider-Man is the name given to several individuals who have employed a spider-moniker throughout Marvel Comics. Typically gaining their powers through a bite from a radioactive spider, the different Spider-Man heroes employ super-strength, agility, and intellect while utilizing webbing to swing and tangle up their foes. The most notable of these Spider-Men is Peter Parker, who remains one of the most popular superheroes throughout the world.
