Mass Effect hasn't had a new game in nearly a decade, and its absence from the gaming world is clearly being felt. While new titles like Exodus and The Expanse: Osiris Reborn are poised to dethrone it as the pinnacle of sci-fi RPGs, fans are still eager to see a new entry in the beloved series grace our screens. Naturally, BioWare is working on an upcoming Mass Effect project, tentatively titled Mass Effect 5, and fans are practically perpetually awaiting even a morsel of news about that game.

However, in the interim, there are numerous new Mass Effect projects in the works and actively being released, serving as perfect ways for fans to while away the hours. From board games to comic books and beyond, Mass Effect offers a rich tapestry of multimedia content for those truly invested in its vast and intricately detailed world, allowing them to get fully immersed. Fortunately, a new one is on the horizon, although this time it's something a little more practical that may be best placed atop a shelf.

BioWare has once again partnered with Dark Horse to release two brand-new Mass Effect figures. Dark Horse, which has previously released comics and puzzles based on the incredibly popular IP, has dabbled in figures and produced several detailed models of iconic characters like Jack, Garrus, Wrex, and, of course, Commander Shepard themselves. Now, it turns its focus to Mass Effect 2 to deliver figures of both Miranda Lawson and Mordin Solus, both of whom serve as party members in said game.

Sure, the announcement of new figures is perhaps not quite as exciting as an official Mass Effect 5 update, but for dedicated fans, it's a great way to celebrate both this legendary series and potentially their favorite characters. Each figure is roughly 9 inches tall and is made from PVC. They are currently available for pre-order on the official Dark Horse Direct website, with the figure of Miranda costing $54.99 and Mordin Solus coming in a little higher at $64.99.

Miranda's figure is exactly 8.5 inches tall, 4.75 inches deep, and 6.99 inches wide. Meanwhile, Mordin's figure is a little bigger, coming in at 9 inches tall, 4.77 inches deep, and 7.53 inches wide. It is worth noting that both of Mordin's hands are outstretched, adding to the figure's width, whereas only the arm holding the iconic M-3 Predator pistol is outstretched.

The official website lists the shipping date for both figures as November 2026–January 2027, although it clarifies that these are estimates and subject to change. However, fans eager to celebrate easily one of the greatest BioWare games of all time can expect to see them sooner rather than later without too much disruption to shipping, at least based on the sales of previous Dark Horse-produced figures.

Naturally, this is a product aimed at those dedicated to the Mass Effect IP who can better stomach the lengthy wait between releases. For those eager to play the series' next title, it sadly seems rather far away. Fortunately, BioWare has promised to deliver a game that is sure to delight fans and bring back the tone of the original releases. It remains to be seen just how Mass Effect as a brand fares over the coming years, but, for now, these figures and projects like it must continue to keep it alive and well.
