Hannah has been writing about horror, sci-fi, and all things nerdy since 2021. At Collider, she covers news and conducts interviews, along with contributing features that dive deep into genre storytelling and why it works. If there’s something lurking in the shadows, she’s probably already writing about it if she's not too busy watching a tape from her VHS collection.

The Marvel Universe has introduced no shortage of game-changing moments over the past year. Infernal Hulk emerged as a terrifying new force, Wiccan finally received his first solo series, Spider-Man debuted a brand-new suit, and Vision and Scarlet Witch celebrated one of Marvel's most iconic relationships. Even Ghost Rider fans got a massive crossover that united multiple Spirits of Vengeance from across Marvel history, and that's only to name a few of 2025's biggest Marvel moments.

Now, those stories are being immortalized in another format. Collider can exclusively reveal five cards from 2026 Topps Chrome Marvel Comics, a new insert set called Meanwhile... that highlights some of the biggest character debuts, storylines, and milestones from Marvel's recent publishing slate. The collection serves as a snapshot of the past year in Marvel Comics, spotlighting the moments that helped define the publisher's ever-evolving universe while giving collectors a chance to own a piece of those stories.

One of the featured cards, The Unstoppable Infernal Hulk, commemorates the introduction of Infernal Hulk from Infernal Hulk (2025) #3. The character quickly became one of Marvel's most significant new additions and has since grown into a central player heading into the current Hulk War storyline. The card's artwork is by variant cover artist Stephen Segovia and showcases the terrifying new form born after the evil known as Eldest tears Bruce Banner and Hulk apart, claiming Hulk's body for its own. According to the card back, the resulting Infernal Hulk is "ten times the monster that everyone always feared Hulk would be."

Based on your answers, the Marvel hero who matches your spirit, values, and instincts has been revealed.

You carry the weight of the world on shoulders that are younger than they should have to be — funny, loyal, and endlessly self-sacrificing.

You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free.

Brilliant, driven, and occasionally insufferable — but always the person who solves the unsolvable problem.

You've been through fire that would break most people — and it did change you, completely. What's left is unyielding, relentless, and operating by a code forged in grief.

Powerful, proud, and on a lifelong journey to become worthy of the legend you carry.

You believe in something bigger than yourself — and you fight for it even when the world has moved on and nobody else will.

Another card in the set, Wiccan and the Witches Road, celebrates Billy Kaplan's first solo series since his debut with the Young Avengers. Based on Wiccan: Witches' Road (2025) #1 and featuring cover art by Lucas Werneck, the card spotlights a story that helped launch Wiccan into a new chapter alongside Hulkling. The series follows the pair as they return to Earth only to find themselves pulled into a magical adventure that promises to reshape both Wiccan and the Marvel Universe itself. Fans of Marvel's most famous synthezoid and witch will also find Reunited Loves, a card inspired by The Vision & the Scarlet Witch (2025) #1. The issue marked the 50th anniversary of Vision and Scarlet Witch's wedding, celebrating one of Marvel's longest-running relationships while introducing a new mystery involving miraculous doors that offer reunions with lost loved ones. Featuring cover art from Russell Dauterman, the card honors both the anniversary and the latest chapter in the couple's story.

Spider-Man receives his own spotlight through Spidey Goes Cosmic, which highlights the debut of Peter Parker's Technarachnid Suit from The Amazing Spider-Man (2025) #11. Featuring artwork by Pepe Larraz, the issue follows two very different Spider-Men: one protecting New York City and another navigating a distant corner of the cosmos alongside unfamiliar allies. The final card revealed is Ghost Riders Unite, based on Spirits of Violence (2025) #1. Featuring cover art by Kendrick Lim, the issue brings together Ghost Riders from across Marvel's past, present, and future to confront a new threat capable of endangering the entire world. As the card's title suggests, it serves as a celebration of nearly every major character to carry the mantle of Ghost Rider.

The five cards are part of the upcoming 2026 Topps Chrome Marvel Comics release, which releases on July 1. The set features a 200-card base collection filled with heroes, villains, and fan-favorite characters pulled from across Marvel's comic book history. Topps is also promising comic-inspired inserts, creator-focused content, original artwork, and rare chase cards designed to celebrate both Marvel's legacy and its latest stories.
