The Pokémon TCG is absolutely on fire this year. Although it's been hard to get cards at pretty much any given time in the history of the game, it's gotten even more hectic during the 30th anniversary, with sets like Ascended Heroes and Pitch Black selling out in minutes, or even seconds. A lot of folks have gotten back into the card game thanks to the frenzy of the 30th, and it's having an impact on stock, especially for specific high-demand sets.

The good news is that there are more products on the way for older sets, which should help players pick up even more hard-to-find cards. As revealed by The Pokémon Company, there's a surprise release coming for the TCG in August (via PokeBeach),

Announced officially by The Pokémon Company, we're getting three Ascended Heroes Tins, which are due out on August 28 for a retail price of $21.99. Each tin will include four booster packs, and promo cards for Mega Feraligatr ex, Mega Meganium ex, and Mega Emboar ex.

As a reminder, Ascended Heroes is one of the biggest Pokémon sets to date, card-count-wise, and that's just one of the reasons why it's sold out so often at every drop. The set arrived back in January, but it's been hard to consistently find packs for it ever since. This surprise release in August should make things less stressful.

Next up is Pitch Black on July 17, which is also in demand. Then there's the 30th Celebration in September (which will sell out very quickly), followed by Delta Reign later this year, expected in November.

Fans are already debating the release of these tins all across the TCG community, with many pointing out the redundancy of the Mega Feraligatr ex, Mega Meganium ex, and Mega Emboar ex cards. Since these were already distributed through the January (and subsequent) Mega Boxes, hardcore collectors are seeing them as a repeat product of sorts.

However, this doesn't impact the vast majority of the casual community. The fact is, Ascended Heroes is a highly sought-after set, and there aren't nearly as many cards out in the wild for players to choose from. The secondhand market can get absolutely brutal at times, but with more of these cards in circulation, it should get down to manageable levels by the time August hits.

If you've been wanting more Ascended Heroes, now is your time to keep tabs on these new August Pokémon TCG tins.
