It's been four years since the last mainline God of War game was released, but the megahit video game franchise has been anything but dormant in 2026. The action kicked off in February, when God of War: Sons of Sparta launched as a prequel to the entire series, adopting a 2D style and telling a story about Kratos and his brother Deimos in their younger years. Accompanying that as a 20th anniversary celebration was confirmation that the original three Ancient Greece-set games would be getting a modernized remake, though a date hasn't been set yet. Sony's State of Play presentation at the beginning of June then further reaffirmed that the Norse saga has more stories to tell when it revealed the much-anticipated next installment from Santa Monica Studios, God of War Laufey, following the journey of Kratos' late wife through the afterlife of the gods in a bold shake-up.

Taking the series' iconic slayer of gods to Midgard in ancient Scandinavia has proven time and again to be exactly what God of War needed, re-solidifying the series as one of PlayStation's crown jewels and allowing Kratos to battle some fearsome new foes and explore fatherhood with his son, Atreus. Perhaps his greatest match was the God of Thunder, Thor. First properly introduced in 2022's God of War: Ragnarök, he's depicted with an imposing dedication to Norse mythology, standing at a towering seven feet eight inches with a big bare belly that hides just how frighteningly muscular and surprisingly swift he can be. He inspired fear and hatred throughout the Nine Realms for the atrocities he committed, and his alcoholism and rage were well noted and ridiculed, yet, in clashing with Kratos, he proved himself to be a more layered individual who saw reason too late to make up for his regrets. Now, a new collectible release from Prime 1 Studio is set to commemorate the all-powerful god in stunning detail.

Pre-orders are now open for the manufacturer's new Thor statue as part of their Real Elite Masterline series, joining a previous collectible made for Kratos. It brings the God of Thunder to life in stunning detail, from his piercing blue eyes to his hair and beard, his tattoos, and the iconic hammer, Mjöllnir, in his left hand, as if he were ripped straight from the game. Standing at 1/3 scale, he sits atop a snowy base crafted to match his journey thematically, with Huginn and Muninn — Odin's eyes and ears — flying behind him and a statue of the Allfather watching over him as a reminder of the familial lineage he can't escape. Also featuring a removable cloth cloak and LED light-up features on his hammer, this art piece won't come cheap at $1,599.
