EXCLUSIVE: Wonder Project, the faith-based, family-friendly indie studio founded by Jon Erwin and Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten, is getting into stand-up. On July 2, they’ll launch Wonder Presents: The Stand-Ups, their first project in that arena, comprising a series of specials that will roll out weekly.

Comics participating included Caroline Rhea, K. Trevor Wilson, Sterling Scott, Ola Dada, Zabrina Douglas, and Erica Sigurdson. The specials, from New Metric Media, will debut on Wonder Project’s add-on subscription streaming service with Prime Video.

Wonder Presents: The Stand-Ups is produced by New Metric Media in association with Wonder Project. Mark Montefiore is executive producer, with Max Wolfond serving as supervising producer and Logan Midroni as producer for New Metric Media. Rhea, Wilson, Scott, Dada, Douglas and Sigurdson are executive producers and writers of their respective specials. Darrell Faria served as director. Ani Haftvani and Ashley Hanna are executive producers for Wonder Project.

Behind the biblical drama series House of David and recent film Sarah’s Oil, Wonder Project is also one of the companies behind Young Washington, the upcoming film on the early life of George Washington, which releases via Angel Studios on July 3.

“At Wonder Project, we’ve always believed in the power of storytelling to move people — and nothing moves people quite like laughter,” said Ani Haftvani, who serves as SVP, Programming and Content Acquisitions at the studio. “We are thrilled to bring stand-up comedy into the Wonder Project family with six incredible specials that represent the best of this art form. This is just the beginning of what we have planned for comedy, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with our audience.”

Mark Montefiore, CEO & Executive Producer at New Metric Media, told us: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Wonder Project and this incredible selection of world-class comedians. Comedy has the power to unite, inspire and build community through shared experiences and we are excited that Wonder Project put their faith into stand-up.”

More information on the specials featured as part of Wonder Presents: The Stand-Ups, including their release dates, can be found below.

Sterling Scott: Good Days, Better Nights

Sterling Scott delivers a high-energy set blending sharp crowd work, fearless storytelling and heartfelt perspective. From fatherhood and aging to race, travel and chasing dreams, he turns real-life moments — wild gigs, family chaos and life lessons — into big laughs with honesty, swagger and a powerful message about loving who you are.

Ola Dada dives into marriage, masculinity and modern love with sharp wit and absurd honesty. From meeting his wife on Instagram “in Jesus’ name” to cultural clashes, therapy and lactose-fueled disasters, Ola turns everyday relationship chaos into big laughs while learning what it really means to grow up and love better.

Zabrina Douglas delivers a fearless, laugh-out-loud set on motherhood, nursing and Caribbean family life. From raising five kids and surviving Zoom school to wild hospital shifts, divorce and cultural chaos, she blends outrageous storytelling with sharp honesty — proving that juggling life, work and sanity is the ultimate comedy material.

K. Trevor Wilson delivers a brutally honest and hilariously self-deprecating set on aging, health scares and marriage. From battling diabetes (again) to surviving sleep apnea and dealing with a cooking mishap, he spins life’s least glamorous moments into big laughs, proving growing older is messy, ridiculous and very, very funny.

Erica Sigurdson: Diary of the Traveling Pantsuit

Erica Sigurdson delivers a sharp, self-deprecating set on marriage, aging and life’s awkward realities. From relationship quirks to body image and everyday embarrassments, she turns relatable frustrations into big laughs with wit, honesty and a fearless ability to say what everyone’s thinking.

Caroline Rhea, of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Phineas and Ferb, brings her trademark warmth and razor-sharp wit to the stage, sharing her hilarious perspective on motherhood, family dynamics and the chaos of modern life. Caroline turns life’s mundane moments into spontaneous comedic gold. Caroline Rhea: A Labor of Love is a uniquely witty special that will leave everyone wishing they had a Caroline in their lives.
