It's almost the middle of the month, which means PlayStation Plus has revealed the rest of its June lineup of games on Extra and Premium. We're also fresh off a State of Play broadcast last week and Summer Game Fest over the weekend, which means even more PlayStation-related news than usual. Now, it looks like PS Plus will have a serious GOTY contender on its hands soon — and it's a day-one release on the subscription service.

Both June's State of Play and Summer Game Fest's Opening Night were filled with big announcements. From gameplay of Marvel's Wolverine during the State of Play to Final Fantasy 7 Revelation closing out Opening Night Light on Friday, there were plenty of games for PS5 owners to be excited about. However, it's a completely different (and honestly unexpected) new game that's causing quite a stir, and PlayStation Plus members won't want to sleep on this one.

Big Walk is an upcoming game from House House, the folks behind the viral hit Untitled Goose Game. From the looks of the extended trailer, which you can view above, it seems like House House may have another hit on its hands. Big Walk is a co-op multiplayer adventure with an emphasis on cooperation and just hanging out.

With up to 12 players, you and your friends will work together to solve puzzles, explore, and... just chill. It's a game where you not only focus on objectives, but you also get to relax with your buddies in a digital environment. It honestly sounds pretty amazing, and there's already an increasing amount of hype for Big Walk.

It might sound like a hot take to call Big Walk a GOTY contender in the same year that'll see Grand Theft Auto 6 release, but consider how much Astro Bot (2024's GOTY at The Game Awards) took the world by storm by simply being a bright, happy, shining beacon of fun. Other games that have gone viral in their respective years, including Clair Obscur in 2025 and Baldur's Gate 3 in 2023, also ended up winning GOTY. If Big Walk can find an audience and hold onto it, then its chances seem good.

Hopefully, Big Walk is just as fun as it looks. If so, we really might have a GOTY contender in our hands soon. Big Walk releases on August 4, 2026, and it's confirmed to be a day-one release for PlayStation Plus. It'll be a part of the monthly Essential games, so you won't have to pay more for Extra or Premium either. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal.
