Rosie O’Donnell said during a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” that she would be open to guest-hosting “The View” if she was invited to do so.

O’Donnell was asked by an audience member if she saw former host Elisabeth Hasselbeck return to “The View” as a guest and if she would ever do the same. O’Donnell replied, “I did catch her on [’The View’], and I would be up to guest host, but they haven’t asked me. So we’ll see what happens, but, you know, listen, it’s interesting. In the time of Trump, I think she’s the perfect person they want on TV spouting their rhetoric.”

Host Andy Cohen then asked O’Donnell, referencing her viral on-camera fight with Hasselbeck back in 2007, “Are you still annoyed that the director went to the split screen?” O’Donnell quipped back, “Ya, I’m still annoyed. Believe me, a mommy knows how to hold a grudge.”

O’Donnell first joined “The View” as co-host in 2007, but left after a single season. As referenced by Cohen, her first stint on the Barbara Walters-created talk show was capped by a heated, on-air argument with Hasselbeck about the Iraq War. O’Donnell rejoined “The View” in 2015, only to abruptly exit five months into her 11-month contract with ABC. She told “Entertainment Tonight” in the aftermath that she left the show to focus on her family after her divorce from Michelle Rounds.

“Stress is very bad for heart attack survivors,” O’Donnell said in a YouTube video at the time. “You should minimize your stress, maximize your exercise and control your diet. That’s what you need to do for a healthy heart. So that’s what I’m doing. I’m minimizing my stress by leaving ‘The View.””
